Before beginning: since I’m not English, there might be some mistakes in the post. Please let me know of them so that I can correct!
Frequent errors on newly bought computers (in the majority of the cases) are “MSVCP100.dll is missing” or “MSVCP110.dll is missing”. They are shown when you try to install or start a program and they may seem hard to solve but it is not so!
MSVCP100 and MSVCP110 are parts of Microsoft Visual C++ package that can be easily downloaded from the official Microsoft Download Center. There are different versions of C++ and you have to choose the one which suits you best.
The first thing to take into consideration is the architecture of your system: if you already know it jump to downloads else follow this mini-tutorial:
- Open the Control Panel
- Click on System and Security and then System
- In the middle of the screen there should be “System Type“
Now let’s get the files!
First of all we can try downloading VC++ 2010.
If your’s is a 32-bit system (32-bit = x86):
if it is 64-bit:
Install the package and check if the problem is solved. See if a reboot helps, if not continue following the tutorial.
MSVCP100.dll missing after installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 on a 64-bit machine.
If you have a 64-bit architecture, in many cases you have to install also the 32 bit version of VC++:
MSVCP100.dll missing after installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010
The problem doesn’t want to disappear? Let’s try with VC++ 2010 Service Pack 1:
The 64-bit’s should install both the versions.
MSVCP110.dll or MSCVCP100.dll missing
If the problem is still there, even after another reboot, or if it is related to MSVCP110 then you could try with VC++ 2012
Also in this case, who has a 64-bit OS should go on with both the versions!
If your problem hasn’t solved, let me know leaving a comment and I’ll try to help you!
